Lima covers an area of 310.5 sq. miles (804.3 square Km) and is estimated to have a population of 7.9 million people being the capital and largest city of Peru. It is located in the valleys of the Chillón, Rímac and Lurín rivers, on a coast overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Artesanías Santo DomingoIn El Centro there aren’t as many souvenir shops as you might think. Most people head to Artesanías Santo Domingo, a cluster of shops in a pretty colonial-style building.

If you get tired of shopping, the plaza outside overlooks the pretty Iglesia de Santo Domingo.
